Curtis organized their annual Multicultural Night on March 27th. Students, teachers, and the school’s cultural clubs came together to create a powerful showcase of identity, talent, and unity.
Dance was a major part of the show. The K-Pop Club put on a stunning performance. The South and Central American Club brought the rhythm and passion of punta and salsa, filling the stage with fast and coordinated movements. The Caribbean Club followed with dancehall and soca performances that filled the auditorium with confidence and rhythm. The Dominican Club closed the show with an outstanding performance blending bachata, dembow, and tipico, combining slow and energetic moves. Throughout the show, it was clear that each club put in weeks of preparation, teamwork, and dedication.
Caribbean Club advisor Ms. Disla shared, “I was very proud to see all my club members’ hard work come to fruition. We spent countless hours researching, choreographing and collaborating to bring together pieces that really showed our unity as Latinos and it all poured out beautifully into a sancocho [blend] of a show!”
Many students said they felt inspired seeing their cultures celebrated, while others enjoyed learning about traditions different from their own. Jayleen shared, “It was very fun, I felt like I was really happy because I got to show the beautiful culture of the Dominican Republic.”
Students filled the auditorium, cheering on their friends and classmates as they prepared to perform.
Overall, the event was a memorable reminder of the importance of representation within the school community. It highlighted how students from different backgrounds can come together to create something meaningful and memorable. As the event came to an end, students began to look forward to future celebrations of culture and talent.
