At Curtis High School, students can participate in a number of community service events. On the morning announcements, upcoming opportunities are often mentioned with information about who to contact and how to sign up. Teachers and guidance counselors also receive news about service opportunities; ask them or check your e-mail regularly for updates. Many of these are one-day events, such as fundraisers and walks on Staten Island, which can help you earn credit within just a few hours.

Another way to earn community service quickly is to join clubs at Curtis whose members volunteer together, they frequently receive information on upcoming events, such as Key Club.

Community service opportunities are just as accessible if you search on your own. You may want to volunteer in your community at a religious organization or perhaps coach a youth sports team. Depending on your interests, there are boundless ways to earn community service hours in a timely manner.
