Curtis offers its students many opportunities, one being the foreign exchange program. Students have the choice to go to the Netherlands, France, Italy and now Spain. During winter break, students traveled to Spain and the Netherlands.

Students who went to the Netherlands came back with interesting stories and new experiences. They stayed with their host family in Heiloo for 10 days and then went to cities such as Amsterdam, Alkmaar, and Harlem. They also visited places like The Anne Frank House, The Van Gogh Museum, and The Frans Hals Museum. Dagmar Meijer, one of the Netherlands foreign exchange students said, “I liked hosting my student, Abby Petrassi and meeting new people. I am so excited to come to New York!”

Ms. Issasi, Ms. Richardson, Mr. Ottaviano, and Dr. Argota all accompanied students on the Spain trip. The students stayed in Gijon for five days with their host families and then went to Madrid. They visited many places such as the Roman aqueducts, Covadonga and Glacier Lakes, and cities such as Toledo, and Salamanca. The Spain trip took place during Carnival, which was the students’ favorite part of the trip. Alecia Miguel, a student who traveled to Spain, said, “It was an amazing experience and I am so happy that I had the chance to meet all of these students.” Eva Pugliese and James Meeker both said they loved all the students and being able to experience Spain.
