Lacrosse Team Preview

This 2019 season, the boys varsity lacrosse team looks to bounce back from a disappointing playoff run. Last year the team lost to Tottenville in the first round of the playoffs 6-4. The team is now led by three captains, senior goalie Jack O’Hara who had a total of 118 saves last year,  senior attackman Bader Alhagiko, and junior long stick midfielder Lawrence Adams who had 80 ground balls last season. Adams was also named to the All team first division as only a sophomore.

The Warriors look to come back this year with a squad of 17 players with both experienced and inexperienced players on the roster.  Several players have just started playing lacrosse this year.

The season started out with a new coach, Dan Rosenfeld.  Rosenfeld was the assistant varsity coach last year. Head Coach Pat Pizzarelli did not return. Unfortunately, Coach Dan was not allowed to be the head coach because of PSAL rules.  So the team is in transition right now. On PSAL, Coach Packowski is listed as the coach. Senior Captain Jack O’Hara shared his response to this conflict.

“Despite these setbacks, I still feel like we have a fighting chance to win the championship.Because even though we have a different coach we still have the same mindset,” said O’Hara.
