Boys cross country comes out on top

Freshman cross country team hits top three in city championship.

The Curtis boys freshman cross country team came in on top during this year’s Staten Island freshmen borough championships On the 17th of October. Under the outstanding coaching of head coach Donald Pierce and assistant coach Matt Gonzalez. This winning team included Bryan Lopez, Ramon Ramos, Miles Mitchell, Cesar Urioso, Kirby Garcia, Delorian Millien, Jared Beltran, and others.

Coach Pierce commented on the outstanding performance of the team saying;”I noticed on the first day of practice the unique potential in these guys, as soon as they were able to complete their warm up quickly and with ease.”

At the city cross country championship the boys won third place.  The were in the hunt for first in a competitive field but came up a little short.  With such a talent squad, a squad that has both speed dedication and depth the young Warriors are looking forward to a great indoor season. There are over 15 athletes on the freshmen cross-country team.
