Boys and girls bowling have a late season

Curtis High School is home to 30+ sports, and two of them are the girls and boys bowling teams. The Lady Warriors were forced to start a week late because  to two teams not being fully prepared at the start of the season. Susan Wagner and Port Richmond matches were pushed back a week, this included the Lady Warriorz’s first two matches of the season. According to coach Gonzales “It was frustrating that we [the team] we ready to bowl yet they had to push back our matches. We had to sit back while we watched the other teams have their matches.”

The season was already suspended half a month due and instead of finishing in October, all bowling teams will finish mid-November which may cause a problem with student athletes who play fall and winter sports. “I believe that the team will definitely have fatigue because we are finishing later. The girls who play winter sports are going to run into problems, but I feel their coaches will understand,” said coach Gonzales.

The Lady Warriorz and the boys bowling team took this half-month to train and teach a copious amount of new bowlers. “It is quite a chalenge to train these new bowlers since bowling requires a lot of practice to be consistent. These bowlers need to learn how to be docile enough to learn how to adjust to their position. By acuiring these skills, the Curtis Bowling team would have a chance to triumph.” said Luis Gutierrez. A new season may always bring difficulties, yet the Lady Warriorz and the boys bowling team will overcome the difficulties and improve from the previous season.
