Ms. Ebanks receives notable award

Twenty-five years since his passing, the Patrick F. Daly Award honors him and what he stood for. Borough President James Oddo honored two educators that hold the same values as Mr. Daly. The honorees were awarded for their service to the community, their commitment to their students, and their leadership. This year one of our very own was given the award. Ms. Ingrid Ebanks, a physical education and health teacher, took home this year’s honor. Ms. Ebanks has been a teacher at both Curtis and the afterschool program at I.S 49 for over twenty-three years. Her students are comfortable around her and find her easily approachable. After beating cancer twice, she’s come back even stronger and more determined to help all of her students succeed. She has stood by her motto, “Never give up or settle.” and never strayed away from it. Her reputation speaks for itself showing exactly why she is the exemplary representation for this award.
