Curtis remembers 9/11 with annual memorial walk

On the day of 9/11, 2001 the iconic Twin Towers collapsed due to a horrific terrorist attack. Every year since, Curtis students have participated in a silent march from Curtis High School to the Postcard Memorial by Staten Island Yankee Stadium. The 9/11 walk is held to remember the Staten Islanders who died in the tragedy. One flower was given to each student to put on the silhouette of each deceased person. Most of the 300 students who attended were either too young to remember or weren’t born yet, many students showed up to give their support.
