This season, the Warriors had one thing and one thing only on their mind: to bring the trophy back to the Castle for the first time since 2017. The Warriors went on a rampage this season, destroying every team that stood in their way, beating top-tier programs like Lincoln, Tottenville, JFK, and Erasmus.
The Warriors’ most important game of the season was the PSAL City Championships against their biggest rival, Erasmus Hall. On the cold Sunday, the Warriors started down 13-0 at the half. “We had been here before, down at half time and I have no doubt in my teammates’ abilities to come back,” said Captain Ugochukwu Emeka. By the end of regulation time, the Warriors had tied the score (13-13). The first overtime also ended with a tie; both teams added one touchdown each ending the period (20-20) The second overtime was going the same way, with the Warriors scoring first. However, Erasmus’ failed PAT attempt allowed the Warriors to win (27-26). Coach Gambardella was asked how he felt about the Warrior’s unbelievable season. “We have the heart of a warrior. A heart of a warrior is to battle adversity and to rise when you fall and to never give up no matter what,” he expressed.
