Curtis is a sprawling community, populated by at least 2,000 students and hundreds of faculty and staff from every walk of life. While we are all joined together on this campus, not everyone’s experience is the same. As such, diversity is the foundation of life at Curtis. The Curtis Log serves as the voice of the school, and the paper of record for our many activities and events.
The start of the school year also marks the beginning of our newspaper cycle; we print a four-page issue covering two to three weeks. In doing this, we the students work to strike a balance between sports, academics, clubs, and the various events around the school. Everything you see, from articles to photos, and illustration to graphic design, is done by students.
However, the diversity we represent ensures that no print issue is exactly alike, as there is always something going on in the school. We truly value our readers and their input, as they’re the ones who help us maintain this equilibrium. We aim to report on each feature of our community with truth, fairness, and understanding.
We believe that everyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, orientation, language, nationality, religion, or ability, has a place in journalism. If you have any feedback, contact us through our website, curtislog.org, or write us a physical letter and send it to room 188. We hope you enjoy this issue. Welcome back to a brand new school year, and thank you for reading!
Signed,
The Curtis Log
