The Curtis Double Dutch team made history this year with their first ever PSAL City Championship win, being the only team in the school to do so. As the only double dutch team on Staten Island, the team often had to travel to Brooklyn and Queens to participate in competitions. It wasn’t a surprise that the team won. When you look at the statistical leaders in the city, the Curtis players place top in all the categories. The team showed good sportsmanship throughout the whole season and formed an amazing bond. Leading jumper Husseinatu Sylla, commonly known as Tutu, won the Wingate award, an award given to a senior for their outstanding achievements in their sport. Overall, the girls had an outstanding season as their first season back from Covid and plan to continue this in the upcoming years.
