The last game of the season is always the most important game for a senior. The Curtis Log asked a few seniors to reflect on the feeling of their last game on their respective teams.  

“The ending of the season for basketball was really hard for me because I was closing a chapter in my life because I’ve been playing since I was three. I’m not playing in college so it was like a really big piece to me. And lacrosse, I met my closest friends there and I also realized it’ll be the last sport I’ll play in high school. I wasn’t that sad that it was over but it was like a realizing moment that high school is coming to and end.” – Brooke Diaz, Girls Varsity Basketball

“The last game of baseball in the playoffs was very emotional and sad. It’s just something you don’t want to happen and I made so many memories while being on the team here with my best friends. Playing in high school made my life so much better and gave me family that I’ll have forever.” – Nichael Navedo, Boys Varsity Baseball

“It was an emotional last game because after four years of playing varsity soccer and it was also tough because it was in the championship game. Made great memories with my brothers so it was worth it.” – Edgar Trujillo, Boys Varsity Soccer

“The last game of the season, the PSAL championship game was the most important game I was a part of in the four years I’ve played soccer for Curtis. However, it wasn’t the way I wanted it to go due to an injury. I still enjoyed every minute of it.” – Alexis Moran, Boys Varsity Soccer

“After being a four year varsity starter, my last season was bitter sweet. It was heartbreaking knowing that my time at Curtis was over and I’d be leaving my team that turned into family. It was also honoring because I’m moving on to my next stage of life. Although we didn’t make it as far as I wanted, we worked together as a team each game and helped each other get better.” -Taylor Riccardi, Girls Varsity Softball
